Ahh delays

Recently, the Camarilla has suffered from news that there will be a soft reset. This means that player will loose all of their experience points that they have gained from, potentially, years of play. They will all have to rebuild their characters from the ground up. This has caused many of the players to decide that they will not renew their membership, and in my Domain especially, almost 90% of the player base seems to be uninterested in continuing with the Camarilla. Due to these events I have decided that a delay from working further on the CamDenver site would be prudent that I need to clean up what I have now and get things out, though a delay is still being considered.
I plan to focus more on my efforts to create a custom theme for this site. Honestly I’m tired of using what other’s have provided and I really want to build something for myself. Maybe even it’ll motivate me to begin working on my artwork again. Read the rest of this entry »
CamDenver Status Update
Feb 10th
So this weekend I managed to get a lot of work done on the CamDenver site in a relatively short time.
Currently I have the layout completed, suckerfish style main menu, basic typography, and a few tweeks to the general design.
I just need to tweek the typography, adjust the sidebar, and setup the footer. Once I finish that, I can move on to plugins and custom php.

I’ve begun working on the rebuild of http://www.camdenver.com and so far I have to saythat it’s an interesting process to go through. I am currently running the site off the Joomla platform. While powerful, it is too difficult forms to use as a CMS.
The purpose of the CamDenver site is to provide a portal for players to garner information about upcoming games and provide any additional, or useful info as it relates to the Camarilla and roleplaying. There are at the least five features that the site needs to have.
- A calendar that shows events
- A detail of the event showing location
- General game and domain announcements
- Contact information ala about page
- Hosting for the monthly newsletter
Most if not all of these features are simple enough to implement. I’ve given myself a deadline of Feb 28th to accomplish the transition. If all goes well this will happen.
